A Kentucky hairdresser has gone viral on TikTok after claiming her pet guinea pig chewed off her bangs while she slept.

Gara Sullivan, 29, took to the social media app last Wednesday to explain that she returned home from a Thanksgiving dinner and drunkenly decided to snuggle up to her pet rodent, Dixie, on her bedroom floor.

Sullivan fell fast asleep and was left stunned the following morning when she looked in the mirror — and discovered Dixie had munched off her hair.

The hairdresser shared her now-infamous “guinea wig” video to TikTok, revealing the wispy remains of her bangs. The clip quickly amassed more than 8 million views.

“I went into the living room and they were right there on the floor,” Sullivan told Kennedy News and Media about her chewed-off bangs.

“[Dixie] didn’t even swallow them — she’d just left them. I felt nothing, I was totally out. It was the night before Thanksgiving and I drank pretty heavily.”

Dixie’s a very chilled one — she just has a taste for human hair!”

Sullivan explained that Dixie, who is 3 years old, is usually kept locked away.

“Guinea pigs chew on a lot of random stuff but thankfully they’re usually in their cage. She’s never eaten my hair before though,” Sullivan said. “I’d say it’ll take six months to a year to grow back, it’ll probably get worse before it gets better.”

Despite the hair-raising catastrophe, Sullivan still adores Dixie.

The Kentucky local and her boyfriend, Alex Kennedy, also have two other guinea pigs, but Dixie is their firm favorite.

Sullivan says Dixie didn't even devour her bangs. She simply chewed them off and left them on the floor.

“Dixie is very lovely, she loves to cuddle. She’s really sweet,” Sullivan cooed.

Amused TikTok viewers concurred, leaving a slew of humorous comments beneath the viral video.

One claimed Dixie was simply making her own “guinea wig.”

Sullivan has now had to style her hair differently to disguise her wispy bangs.

“She said ‘If I can’t have hair then neither can you,'” another wrote.

A third TikTok user chimed in: “That’s the midnight barber!”
