No matter your hair type, finding the right hair products is never easy. Much like fine-tuning your skincare routine, it often takes a lot of research, trial-and-error and sifting through hundreds of options to find top products. And while Amazon can be a goldmine for haircare items, not everything that glitters on the site is truly gold.

That’s why we asked celebrity hair stylist Monae Everett to give us the tea on some of the best hair products she recommends. Everett, who has styled stars like Yara Shihidi and Jada-Pinkett Smith, is an Amazon regular and has used products from the e-retailer on her celeb clientele.

According to Everett, finding the best haircare online begins and ends with checking out the reviews.

“The first thing you want to do is to read the [product’s] full description and read the reviews, especially if you’re really investing or if you’re using a product that will alter your hair texture,” Everett told In The Know.

Below is a list of some of Everett’s top haircare picks to scoop up on Amazon.

Shop: Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay, $12.99

While you may know this clay as powerful facial mask, it also serves as an effective cleansing treatment for your hair. In fact, Bentonite clay can be used to add moisture and get rid of toxins nestled in your mane, according to Healthline.

“That is great to be used on your hair and skin to remove impurities and really help to get your curls poppin’,” Everett said. “It’s like a moisturizing and protein treatment in one.”

Shop: Oribe Soft Lacquer Heat Styling Spray, $36

If you need to add some serious shine to your hair, this may be for you. According to the product description, it leaves your hair with a major high-gloss effect. It’s also one of Everett’s go-to products. She has used it on several of her clients, including broadway actress Merle Dandridge and WNBA star Skylar Diggins.

“This is great for if you’re straightening hair or if you’re using any hot tools like a flat iron or a curling iron,” Everett said. “It’s almost like starch for the hair, when you really need that style to stay without it looking hard.”

Shop: SheaMoisture Manuka Honey And Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Combination Set, $29.99

This SheaMoisture shampoo and conditioner works as “an intensive moisturizer,” according to Everett. Loaded with organic shea butter, honey, mafura and baobab, this hair wash set helps remove product buildup and nourish damaged hair.

Shop: Oribe Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray, $69.99

Lastly, Everett swears by another heat-styling spray to help her clients’ hair look fab. The royal blowout spray from Oribe not only helps protect hair, but also repairs and nourishes your mane at the same time.
