MONTCLAIR, NJ - A new hair salon and coffee shop has opened in Upper Montclair, officials announced.

Connected Salon and Cafe Concept, Boho Hair Salon and Boca Life Cafe | Anechó Coffee, celebrated their grand opening with a launch party on Saturday, September 19.

Located at 111-113 Watchung Ave, this salon and cafe concept is the first of its kind in the Montclair area.

During the event, guests were treated to a complimentary dry styling station and cotton candy. The party also featured Lolita Vintage ( https://ift.tt/2HwxvJD ), a female owned pop-up shop that sold a beautiful selection of sustainable, vintage clothing and accessories, joined by handcrafted jewelry designer “West Village Tribe” ( https://ift.tt/3czNvWZ). A portion of the proceeds from this event were donated to MESH, Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless ( https://ift.tt/2Gfd8jL ).

The cafe’s full food and drink menu is now available and open to the public.

With the original Boho Hair Salon flourishing in Asbury Park, owners Sally and Albie Monterrosa wanted to open a second, reimagined model of their current business with an added cafe experience.

When the couple met Nikki and Brad Outlaw, owners of their own mobile coffee cart, Anechó Coffee, it was the perfect opportunity to transform their idea into a reality. The four came together to create the first ever connected salon and cafe that is Boho Hair Salon and Boca Life Cafe | Anechó Coffee. Special guests during the ribbon-cutting ceremony, included Montclair Mayor Sean Spiller.

“I wanted the cafe and salon to embody kindness, community, and harmony” says Sally Monterrosa. “We teamed up with designer Joanna Nollet, of FAYE AND RENEE, to incorporate textures and colors that are inviting and memorable; to transcend our customers to another place.”

Boho Hair Salon is a chic boutique salon experience that was created with the intention to empower and cultivate true connections through beauty and lifestyle workshops.

Boca Life Cafe | Anechó Coffee provides guests with a unique space to gather while experiencing exceptional customer service. The quality ingredients used in their curated food menu, combined with the expertise that Anechó Coffee brings to each and every specialty drink, creates an experience that is far from average.

“I wanted to take the ordinary cafe items we all know and love, and put a twist on them to elevate the experience” says Nikki Outlaw.

The collaboration between Boho Hair Salon and Boca Life Cafe | Anechó Coffee, in itself, reflects what both companies value most - uplifting their customers and community.

“We wanted to focus on the idea of speaking life into others” explains Brad Outlaw.

“The mouth, or ‘boca’ in spanish, has the power to uplift through conversation, eating nourishing food, or drinking a good cup of coffee” says Albie Monterrosa.
