If you haven't yet run into the brand at Credo Beauty or Sephora, first-generation Indian American founder Michelle Ranavat created the line to celebrate and preserve the Ayurvedic rituals used by Rajasthan royalty. Since launching in 2017, Ranavat's skincare has earned celebrity fans like Mindy Kaling and Gwyneth Paltrow, and after trying its oft-sold out hair serum, I can absolutely see why.

By my current tally, I have six other hair oils in rotation right now, including standouts from Adwoa Beauty and Badger. It's too many, but as soon as I opened the serum Ranavat sent over, I knew I'd have to make space for one more. It smells intoxicating, like night in a jasmine grove. I could huff it for hours, and its magnificence comes with a surprise: just three ingredients are in the formula.

Cold-pressed organic sunflower oil, organic jasmine oil, and organic amla extract are the only things in its black, glass bottle, yet its simplicity doesn't sacrifice substance. Amla extract packs a high concentration of oleic acid, vitamin C, and vitamin E, per the brand, and sunflower oil cuts down breakage, strengthens damaged tresses, and moisturizes dry skin and hair. And as dermatologist Marisa Garshick, MD, previously told InStyle, cold-pressing preserves the key fatty acids in plant oils, like omega-6, omega-9, and antioxidants.

As a beauty editor, most products I try get a mental list of pros and cons. Pro-wise, the serum leaves my curls springy, shiny and frizz-free, and I'm not the only one who's noticed its potent benefits — the serum had a 3,500-person waitlist ahead of its recent restock. After using it as an overnight treatment, one reviewer said they noticed "significantly less" shedding in the shower, and people with "brittle, mature hair" are also impressed by the "incredible volume" and "thicker, shiny" strands it imparts.

Even with its single con — the $70 price tag, another shopper called it a "blissful" purchase. "It's the perfect weight, even for my very sad, fine hair," wrote a last person of their experience. "I've noticed my hair looks and feels fuller. And can we talk about the smell?! Pure heaven."

Honestly, I'd like that person's email to discuss just how good the serum smells. Most fragrances give me a headache, but this smells like a wealthy celebrity — better, even, considering some of their bathing habits. Get the thickening Mighty Majesty Fortifying Hair Serum for $70 at the brand's website and Sephora
