We are sorry to hear of the death of Tom Smith from To Live and Shave in L.A. (TLASILA).
The experimental band who pushed buttons and boundaries were an experimental music collective founded in 1993 by avant-garde composer/producer Tom Smith (formerly of Washington, DC groups Peach of Immortality and Pussy Galore and Miami Beach musician/producer Frank “Rat Bastard” Falestre as well as an endless network of avant-garde American musicians amongst its ranks and as collaborators: producer and musician Don Fleming, Thurston Moore, Andrew WK, Hatewave’s Nándór Nevai, Harry Pussy’s Adris Hoyos, Bill Orcutt, Sightings’ Mark Morgan, COCK ESP’s Emil Hagstrom, Mr. Velocity Hopkins, and more.
