After it has been spread through your hair, you should use the pads of your fingers and massage the shampoo all over your scalp.

She added: “Don’t miss your hairline or nape.”

After you have rinsed your hair, the stylist advised you should repeat the process, but this time focus on your scalp and just let the suds pass gently through the ends of your hair.

When you have rinsed again, next it is time to add conditioner.

This should be applied to the ends of your hair avoiding the roots, and should be left to soak in for a minute or two.

Amy advises you finish up your hair wash with a cool rinse, before towelling your hair.

Her video has racked up hundreds of comments after being shared on TikTok, with many people saying they will now change how they wash their hair.

One said: “Me watching this even though I’m a hairdresser and know this.”

Another added: “I do this! Perfectly clean hair every time.”
