2020's grumpiest animals hate this year even more than you do - New York Post

Humanity seems to be in agreement that 2020 has been a dumpster fire of a year — but these animals don’t look they’ve enjoyed it much, either.

A hilarious gallery of curated grumpy animal photos proves that, while the human race has inarguably had a rough 12 months, not all is sunshine and lollipops in the animal kingdom, at least for these cranky critters.

Extremely unhappy-looking kitty Saul has earned the title “Grumpy Cat 2.0″ for his displeased looks — and his 2020 really was far from purrfect: Saul was hit by a car on London’s Peckham High Street and needed to be rushed to the hospital. His expression shows how he felt about the incident.

Matilda, an Exotic Shorthair cat, is also no happy pussy — at least not based on her facial expression in the below gallery.

While visiting a Worcestershire, UK, farm this year wildlife photographer Pete Walkden, 47, discovered a not-so-peppy-looking owl. The fluffy fellow appears far from enamored with the year.

Owlets Ronnie and Reggie — named for the sibling crime lord twins, Ronnie and Reggie Kray — also perpetually appear unhappy and up to no good, and this year was no exception.

Owls aren’t the only birds displeased with 2020. Photographer Gladys Klip captured the moment an angry bald eagle ran toward the camera touting a menacing look. Meanwhile, a flock of birds appear to enjoy their ride on an unsuspecting hippopotamus, but the semiaquatic mammal looks downright pissed.

A Kansas City Zoo gorilla named Radi was photographed looking perturbed by the state of things, as was a gorilla at the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Virunga National Park.

In Scotland, a hare was caught on camera looking about as unhappy as a hare can seemingly look.

Some pets have also been subject this year to similar 2020 trends causing humans to be disaffected, including coronavirus lockdown-related weight gain and a feeling of loneliness that they seek to quench via dating app.
