Hair that normally would be swept off the floor was instead donated to a good cause recently at the annual St. Luke’s Employee Hair Donation Drive.

Twelve people received haircuts at Trends Day Spa and Salon in Superior to make donations to Children With Hair Loss, according to Melissa Burlaga, media marketing specialist for St. Luke’s.

Children With Hair Loss provides wigs to children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment or other medical conditions. Each member of the program receives a free hair replacement every year until they turn 21.

Participants must donate at least eight inches of hair. The hair can be gray or colored, as long as it is in good condition.
