Like many Americans, Rita Wilson has avoided going to the hair salon to get regular blowouts since the pandemic hit in March of last year. The 64-year-old actor revealed this — as well as the hot tool that's been her saving grace during this time — in a new Instagram post that demonstrates how she's been styling her hair at home.
The post in question features two selfies of Wilson — one in which she's sporting sleek straight hair and one where it's worn wavy and voluminous. Despite the two hairstyles being very different, she achieved them with the same tool: a blowout brush. In her caption, Wilson explains that she was "shocked" at how well the styling brush worked on her hair because it's so curly. "[I] have never been able to blow out my own hair and have it look like anything other than a pyramid. Plus it would take over an hour," she writes.
Wilson says both hairstyles took her less than 40 minutes to do on her own, which is pretty impressive. "For all the curly haired chicks out there, this may be your 'go to' if you can't get to a salon," she writes, before thanking artist Tracey Cunningham for her hair color, which is a natural sandy blonde shade right now.
The movie star didn't share the exact blowout brush she uses, but as Wilson herself points out, there are myriad on the market that will get the job done. In fact, we've compiled a list of our favorite options in this handy round-up, which includes tools like the famous Dyson Airwrap, the best-selling Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer, and the GHD Rise Hot Brush.
Needless to say, we love that Wilson opened up about her top hair tip. If you also have extremely curly hair like the actor, definitely considered adding a blowout brush to your arsenal.
