How Phil Spector's hair disappeared behind bars - Page Six

jembutikal.blogspot.com

Photos document how Phil Spector — whose death at age 81 was announced Sunday — went from bizarre bouffants to certified bald guy while behind bars.

The record producer turned murderer became infamous for his eccentric courtroom coifs during his trials for the 2003 murder of actress Lana Clarkson — sporting garish wigs, including big frizzy perms as well as a platinum blonde shaggy bowl cut.

Spector later denied he was wearing hair pieces, according to Billboard — but his hair situation could no longer be disputed when the public got its first look at Spector’s booking mugshot in 2009.

A 2013 picture of stringy long hair framed around his pale bald skull drew comparisons to the Gollum character in “Lord of the Rings.”

And in a 2014 mugshot, the emaciated prisoner smiled wryly while sporting a wild long grey goatee and very little hair on his head.

It wasn’t always that way. In early photographs, the vain super-producer’s ‘do can barely be distinguished from the edgy-looking musicians he worked with.

Before his death, the 81-year-old was housed in a California prison health care facility for the state’s sick and mentally ill inmates. Sources told TMZ that he died of complications from COVID-19.
